During maths we learn to do different things. We learn different strategies to solve problems. We also learn about ratio's, fraction's, algebra, predeterminer and other's like multiplication problems.
During reading we learn how to activate our prior knowledge and learn how to find key facts in texts and learn strategies to solve something when your stuck during reading time. S o we can improve and move up higher levels.
During writing we learn how to write a creative story ad learn what similes and adjectives are. We also got to write up our own speech and say it in front of our class. We learnt what you need to have in your speech that will make a good speech.
During art we learn different types of ways to draw or paint a picture We also learnt how to work with coll aging painting, dying, and shading and coloring. We also have made a lot of pictures or paintings that have been put around my classroom.
During P.E we learn how to play different types of sports and learn the basic skills for it. We were also lucky because we got basketball men who came in and teaches us some skills for basketball. We also had some awesome helpers who play tennis cam in and helped us with the basics for a tennis game. We also got some awesome touch players who came in and teaches us some touch skills and the rules to play touch. Our class has improved a lot in P.E.
During health we learnt different types of achohol and we learnt that it is not good and what it can damage in your body. Earlier this year we first learnt about puberty and different parts in our body's. We also got Constable Dave who came into our classroom and gave us advice when something bad happens around you like family violence or bullying. We also learnt the rules on staying home by your self and what age.
For language we learnt Japanese language. We learnt how to speak it. I enjoyed it a lot. We learnt how to write in Hiragana. We learnt the alphabet. Japanese is very different to New Zealand We also learnt what they eat and what they where and stuff. We learnt what the capital city is in japan and about it.
For social studies we learnt about the Olympic 2012 and the history of gold medals of New Zealand. We also made a shield of all about our selves. It took us a lot of time to make it beautiful. We also made a shield of what we want to be when we grow up. We also got to make up our own dance and present it in front of our school.
For spelling we had tests to see what age we are at for spelling. We had a test at the beginning of the year and at the end of the year. We also got homework and that we had to learn those spelling words earlier in the year.
For visual language we made posters on print shop two about cyber safety and made a lot of other posters. We also got to make our own sun smart posters to keep us safe in the hot sun.
For radio station we learnt how to make our own blog's like my one. We also learnt how to use radio station kit and how to make our own scripts to say on air. We also learnt what we need to make a good movie. We did end up making our end of year movie to show our families.
