| This is the standtall students. |
Hello everyone, this is all my standtall work. If you don't know what standtall is, it is a programme that helps students be confiedence more and helps students in there educatoin and what they want to be when they grow up. I am one of those 5 students who got picked from my school. Those five students are very lucky. There are 4 schools from manurewa and 3 schools from Mangere, that are in this programme. So every time i do projects or work for Standtall i would like to share it with everyone and share my experiences during my years.
To the aliens :-)
Hello, malolelei, my name is Victoria fanguna , and welcome to my country aliens. This is Tonga and we are known as the friendly island. It is very fun here in Tonga . The capital in Tonga is Nukualofa and I am from matahau and niutoua. The colour of our flag is red and white, we have a white cross on our beautiful flag. The king of Tonga is king George tupou. First of all we are fun because we have a lot big feast. Our most popular food’s in Tonga are pig, taro, and cassava which we cook under ground. what we call Tonga a umu. These big feast are mostly in big celebrations, so our next celebration is next year on July,(see u there) on these celebration people decorate their trucks and utes and we jump at the back and throw lollies and money out to every body. Second of all, we have very funny pools, because the pools is just like part of the beach and they are just surround by rocks. This pool is very deep and has no super visors and is free and for the public. Also what is funny in Tonga is that pigs, dogs and chickens just wonder around the streets. Another popular thing in our country is that girls always plat their to school n every where. That is our traditional hair styles. The most church religion in our country is Christianity/Mormon. One of the rules in Tonga is that all shops have to be closed on Sundays. This shows our respect by going to church every Sundays and most shops are very small , so you have to ask them to get what u want for you. There’s like nearly two shops on each road. The last thing that Tonga always do in their time is that they always play sports normally rugby, this is a big thing in our culture. So aliens, I hope you listened to my speech of my friendly country Tonga because it’s all like to do in Tonga. Tonga likes to have fun, so when you come of course you’ll love it and again you’ll have FUN! Thank you!2. What culture do you and your family most associate yourself with? Tell me about where your parents and grandparents came from.
I come from a friendly island Tonga my mum is from niutoua ,my dad is from matahau. We speak Tongan at home and at other places because there not able to speak English well like us.
3. what are the main things that make you most proud about your culture?
I am proud of my culture because my culture is friendly and that my culture does everything to be a good island. We also are brave to try new things like sports and others activities.
4. Tell me something that is special about your culture to do with:
a. food: we are a culture who loves to eat island food, like pig, taro, cassava and fish.. we have yummy umu. (under ground cooking)
b. clothes: They have clothes that us here in new Zealand have and we also have our own traditional clothes like tupanu and a shirt (for men) and dress
(for girls) that goes together. We have Tongan patterns on our clothes that is special in our culture.
c. customs and rituals:
The customs and rituals in our country are tupanu which is a piece of cloth that we tie around our waist. These are worn often at church and culture events. We also where a ta’ovala when there is a funeral. we also have our own traditional dance which is called tau’olunga, the clothes we where for that is called vala tau’olunga. This is made out of leaves and konga ngatu.
Tyra banks speech
Who do I admire? Gisele Bundchan, Parisian, Tyra Banks, Jean Shrimpton, there all great supermodels. Well hello my name is Victoria Fanguna and I am 11 years of age. I admire a lovely person named Tyra Banks. She is a talk show host, actress, occasional singer, business women and but I mostly admire her, because she is a talented model! I admire her because my goal is to be a supermodel or maybe a fashion designer and she‘s the best one I know and she also has the perfect height which is 5 foot 10. Tyra has achieved her goal very well, she even hosts her very own show called ’America’s next top model’ and ‘The Tyra Banks show‘. I would love to be like Tyra Banks one day. I would put in 100% to achieve my goal by focusing on school work and university. Tyra was born in Inglewood, California, United States, on the 4th of December, 1973, so she is currently aged 37. She is an African American. Tyra began modelling in the 11th grade. She has appeared on these magazines Vogue, Haper’s Baazer, Cosmopolitan, Cleo and Elle. In 1998 Tyra Banks authored a book called Tyra’s Beauty, inside and out. The book was mostly about helping women’s to make most out of their natural beauty. Tyra has appeared in several music videos, including Michael Jackson black and white and a lot more. Tyra banks received the VH1 award for supermodel of the year. The same year, she became the first-ever African American chosen for the cover of the Victoria’s secret catalogue. Thank you for taking your time to listen to my speech about “WHO DO I ADMIRE”. once again thank you.

Write a 2 to 3 minute speech of your lifetime achievements as though someone else is talking about you at a fancy dinner to celebrate your life. At the term next workshop you will be presenting your speech to the Standtall cadets.
Education, education, educations. It’s the most important things in our life, only with education we can go through our life easily, you only manage to catch your dream with educations, whatever it is it will come true if you’re educated, I’ve through my life almost 35 years with educations, and I can see, people are useless without educations, in the eye’s of the world, and now I have chased my dreams, even now, I still am, I’m not younger anymore, because if you have no educations, you’re nothing, you’re no body, and the most important thing, nobody will look at you even with one sight. Hello, I am here to talk to you about the wonderful achievable person in the world, Victoria Fanguna the famous International fashion designer! Well let’s talk about her history. In the past 35 years she has been achieving the goals she has been wanting to be since she was young. She is standing here very skilled and bright! Which is great because, when we were young best friends, she always have told me that her goal is to be the most famous designer ever, and now she can make her own costume designs! She has gone through university which was hard for her she says, and hey I noticed that she has never given up. Victoria has designed some great clothing for some other famous celebrities including Beyonce, Hillary Duff, and more. When she was young her mother was a very great sewer, so she taught her how to. Her clothing is all around the world being bought by thousands of people, just as much as people know her around the world. During this time she is having a very important task, because she has been asked by the Queen, Elizabeth, to make a wedding dress for the queens daughter, have you noticed? Victoria is very busy aye? Victoria is also a lovely, kind and caring person who loves helping people. Victoria also travels to many pacific islands and also to her culture home Tonga.
She makes some of their costumes, like costumes for the Miss. Heilala event, where Tongan women’s compete to become Miss. Heilala for that year, the judges, judge their costume, their looks, walks and more. So yeah, she is close with her main country, Tonga. She crochet’s warm cosy beanies, scarfs, jumpers and more easily, probably just takes 5 minutes to make a beanie. She is so happy that her parents have taught her how to sew, crochet and more. So like now she wears them in cold, rainy days. She is grateful for her parents, nana, teachers and sister who teaches her how to live a dream and dad and papa who encourages her and cheers her when she’s a bit upset or feeling down. She is on twitter and facebook, so if you want to know more about her and her clothing, you can follow her or add her as friend, name Victoria Fanguna. On facebook her page has about 2 million likes, which is pretty good. Thankyou for taken your time to listen to my speech about my very close friend Victoria Fanguna.
